The special wedding photos taken on the evening of January 5 of the couple Truong Dinh Minh and Cao Thi Huong Ly (both born in 1997, working and living in Hanoi) have attracted great attention from the online community.
Because this is a truly special evening for Vietnamese fans when the national team won the ASEAN Cup 2024 after many challenges at Rajamangala Stadium, Thailand.
This is the third ASEAN Cup championship in the history of the Vietnamese team after winning the tournament in 2008 and 2018.
After the national team won, Vietnamese fans from all over the country and all over the country poured into the streets to share the joy with the players. Dinh Minh also made an appointment with his group of friends to have dinner at 7pm and watch the final football match between Vietnam and Thailand at 8pm.
He said: "My idea for this wedding photo shoot came after our team had an advantage in the first leg, winning 3-2 in the second leg final at Viet Tri Stadium. When I shared the idea with my group of friends - most of whom are photographers - I received their approval. The group also decided that if our team won, we would "go crazy" and take wedding photos right on the street; otherwise, we would just eat and go home."
Before that, Dinh Minh and his wife had taken wedding photos to prepare for their important ceremony. The special wedding photo album amidst the joy of winning the biggest football tournament in Southeast Asia was just an interesting improvisation to mark another memorable moment for the couple's happy beginning.
The 9X groom added: "Red flag shirts with yellow stars, victory banners or firecrackers are sold a lot along the street, easy to buy, my wife did not take much time to prepare. As for her, my wife also put on makeup and wore a dress at home. Right after the match ended, our team "rushed" out onto the street and carried out the idea.
We agreed to only take photos at one point at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao and Hang Bai for about an hour, from 10pm to 11pm, and then return home because we still had to go to work the next morning. During the shoot, we don't remember how many times we stopped to take photos at traffic lights, probably quite a few times because each red light only lasted about 25-30 seconds."
This is the first time the 9X bride and groom have "celebrated" the victory of the Vietnamese team together.
Both were very happy to join the crowd to share the victory of their team. In February, the couple will hold a wedding and officially return to one family.
"My wife was very happy because before that, the whole group watched an emotional match together, then enjoyed the enthusiasm of the crowd. It was not until 2am that we could put down our phones and go to sleep. We were also surprised and happy because during that short photo session, many people passed by and took pictures with us," said Dinh Minh.
