Dr Kamna Chhiber, clinical psychologist, Head of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare Hospital (India) - said that there are times when you will feel that the work of the day is especially busy and stressful, requiring maximum concentration and attention to be able to complete.
However, when in a bad mood, irritability and depression can become obstacles in your work process.
Dr. Kamna Chhiber advises that there are some useful ways that can help you quickly get out of this depressed state:
Find the cause
Consider where your job boredom really comes from. Is it your favorite job?
Is this job a good fit for your current skills and qualifications? Have you put in the effort to do the job? Taking stock and resetting your career goals can give you a new direction that is exciting and motivating.
Do a little more of what you like
You can do other favorite jobs besides your main job. Diversifying the jobs in a day can make you no longer feel bored, but on the contrary, feel excited and happy.
Calm down by doing a short activity
Make a note of activities that usually calm you down. This could be listening to or singing a particular piece of music, something you enjoy reading, taking a short walk, or even doing breathing exercises. These activities can help you feel more relaxed and improve your mood in a positive way.
Ask yourself
Distractions make work ineffective and you need to remind yourself by asking questions like: "Is this really important?", "Could this really change the trajectory of my life?", "Is this the worst thing that could happen today?".
Reinforce yourself with positive things
Think about what you have accomplished and the good things that have happened to you over the years. Remembering these positive outcomes will allow you to build a more balanced mood.
A quick chat
Build good relationships at work. It is helpful to have friends in the organization where you work. They can share their experiences.
Not only can they act as a listening ear, they can also help you defuse the situation, see it from a different perspective, or come up with effective solutions.
