Teaching children emotional intelligence (EQ) and kindness will help them always know how to love, share and care about everyone around them. Accordingly, parents should help their children understand and name the emotions they experience. Regularly ask your child questions, for example: "Are you sad? " will help children learn to express their thoughts, happy and sad states.
When emotions are named, children will be less sad and angry as well as learn how to control their behavior. Helping children call out the right emotions so that they can build trust and know how to adjust their attitude appropriately.
With a positive lifestyle and thinking, parents should be a "model" for their children to follow. Behave from the smallest actions such as saying thank you when being helped, or saying sorry when making mistakes... so that children can learn and follow.
Parents also need to help their children learn to put themselves in other people's shoes through stories or real-life situations to learn how to face and solve problems.
In addition, encouraging children to participate in housework or participate in charity activities suitable for their age will help children learn to share responsibilities and know how to love everyone around them.
Sometimes children can hardly avoid selfishness, so parents should patiently explain and teach their children to adjust their behavior as well as acknowledge and promptly give encouragement for their commendable actions. This will create motivation to help children understand that kindness is worth cherishing and from there form a compassionate and altruistic lifestyle.
