Phi Phung is a beloved actress with the ability to make the audience laugh. She left an impression on the audience through outstanding roles in works such as: The Shadow of Her Husband, Little Prince Bakery, Family is Number 1,...
In the program "Evening Story with Stars", Phi Phung shares about her journey with art since childhood, memorable memories in her career and her optimistic spirit despite facing many ups and downs in life.
Artist Phi Phung was born and raised in a family with an artistic tradition. From a young age, her father often took her to performances and had the opportunity to be exposed to the stage. However, at first, Phi Phung did not think she would pursue this path.
She recounted that from the times she followed her father to sing in art shows, she only considered it a joy and never thought she would enter the acting path. But with the "artistic blood" passed down from her family, Phi Phung gradually became attracted to the stage, and her fate with the comedy profession arose from there.
Artist Phi Phung used to love music, especially love songs, and always wanted to become a singer. However, life led the female artist to acting, especially comedy - where she shined and left a deep impression on the audience.
The big turning point in Phi Phung's career came in 2003, when she was invited to join the IDECAF theater stage. Her role in the play Miracle in 2004 left a strong impression on the audience and was also the most important milestone in the artist's career. This was the first time Phi Phung was assigned to replace a main actor right before the Lunar New Year. Despite the pressure of this important role, she overcame it and received much praise from the audience.
However, at that time, she had to face many family events, when her relatives became seriously ill and had to be hospitalized. Despite facing deep sadness, she still had to be strong to go on stage to act, to complete her role well, because the stage does not allow artists to bring personal emotions onto the stage.
One of the things that artist Phi Phung always regrets is not being able to invite her father to see her perform on the official stage before he passed away. She is always proud that she has inherited her father's artistic spirit. She shared that she always remembers what her father once said: "I am an artist but have never done anything to bring shame to you", and that is Phi Phung's greatest pride throughout her career.
In 2014, Phi Phung was honored with the Best Supporting Actress award and she brought this award home to present at her father's altar, as a token of gratitude to the person who passed on the passion for her career. That was the moment when she felt she had fulfilled her wish for her father.
