Actor Jung Hae In frankly shared his feelings about coming from a noble family.

Recently, Korean actor Jung Hae In appeared on tvN’s entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block.” Here, he mentioned his lineage as a descendant of Jung Yak Yong, one of the greatest thinkers of the late Joseon Dynasty and a powerful assistant to the 22nd King Jeong Jo.

Jung Yak Yong (stage name Dasan) was a philosopher, scientist, artist, author, and educator. With 500 books written during his 75 years of life, Jung Yak Yong is considered “the greatest scholar who left behind the most books since the invention of Chinese characters.”

He was also Joseon's top engineer, credited with building Hwaseong Fortress, now recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.

Jung Hae In has long been known as the 6th generation direct descendant of the thinker Jung Yak Yong. Jung Hae In heard this a lot since he was young, because he lived with his grandparents and was told.

The actor confessed that at that time he did not really have an impression of his origin because he was young. But later, when studying history, Jung Hae In was very proud of his ancestors.

Jung Hae In humorously shared that he often sees videos with the content “The Teachings of Dasan Jung Yak Yong” on YouTube. Therefore, he also tells himself that he needs to pay more attention to his actions.

Born into a well-educated family, Jung Hae In originally planned to study Biotechnology, but he later completely changed his goals, and was fortunate to be admitted to the Department of Entertainment, Radio and Television at PyeongTaek University.

The turning point in Jung Hae In's life was when he enlisted in the army at the age of 21. He described his two years in the army as "a precious time" that helped him realize his determination to become an actor. During this time, Jung Hae In lost 12kg to prepare for his acting career.

Jung Hae In officially entered the art world at the age of 26. After graduating from university and completing his military service, he joined the management company FNC Entertainment.

In 2014, Jung Hae In made his acting debut in the TV series “Bride of the Century”. He then became more widely known to the audience through his guest role in the movie “Goblin” (2016) and supporting roles in the popular TV series “While You Were Sleeping” (2017) and “Prison Playlist” (2017).

In 2018, the first leading role in his career through the TV series "Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food" co-starring with Son Ye Jin helped Jung Hae In rise to fame.
