On the evening of December 18, actor Hyun Bin officially appeared as a guest on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block", hosted by MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho.
During the show, Yoo Jae Suk mentioned the drama “Crash Landing On You” and said, “This is the work that shows why Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are masters of the romance genre, and it is also the project that led them to marriage.”
In response, Hyun Bin admitted: "This is a work that creates many things. I received a lot of love, the viewership ratings were very good, and I also met my wife."
Jo Se Ho asked if the two met through this work, then Hyun Bin explained: "We previously filmed a movie together called "The Negotiation".
Due to the nature of the film, we shot on the same day, but in different locations. I could only communicate with her through the screen.
So I thought, it would be fun if we did a romantic comedy together, and that idea came to fruition with "Crash Landing on You."
Regarding when he and Son Ye Jin became lovers, Hyun Bin shared: “It’s hard to say when our relationship started, it’s very vague. But while working on the project (Crash Landing on You), we had many conversations.
As time passed and even after filming ended, we continued to communicate, have meetings and do promotional shoots. It all happened very naturally.”
Recently, Hyun Bin and his son sending a coffee truck to the film set to support Son Ye Jin (starring in a film directed by Park Chan Wook) became a hot topic.
Regarding this, Hyun Bin said: "This is my wife's first work after marriage. I sent the coffee truck under my son's name. Surely during all this time, my wife really wanted to return to acting, and that desire became stronger after witnessing my work.
But as a mother, she had a lot to take care of, so she had to endure and persevere. I feel sorry for her, but now seeing her excited about working makes me feel more comfortable.”
The actor mentioned how Son Ye Jin supported and encouraged her husband's work: "After I finished filming 'Harbin', I think she felt the pressure I was under. She told me that I did well. So when she finished this project, I also wanted to tell her that she did well."
Talking about his first son, the 42-year-old actor admitted: "I think he looks more like his mother." Although both Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin want their sons to look like them.
Hyun Bin also sent a message to his wife and son, saying, “From the moment my child was born until now, witnessing everything she has done, I feel truly amazing, full of respect and gratitude.
I would like to thank my wife for enduring everything quietly and patiently, even though it must have been very difficult for her to replace my role while I was away filming.
I am also grateful that our son came into this world before I had to go abroad to film.”
Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin got married in March 2022, after more than a year of confirming their relationship. The couple then welcomed their first son in November of the same year.
