Korea JoongAng Daily recently reported that singer Choi Wheesung, known by his stage name Wheesung, has passed away. According to the police and fire department, Wheesung was found dead at an apartment in Gwangjin district, Seoul, at around 6:29 p.m. (local time).
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving a notice from Wheesung's family.
Police and firefighters believe Wheesung was found after a long time since his death, and are investigating the exact cause of his death.
The police said: "Currently, there are no signs of outside intrusion or suspected crime. We are continuing to investigate whether there was an suicide note and clarify the specific situations leading to the death."
Notably, Wheesung is scheduled to hold a joint concert called "The Story" with singer KCM at Daegu EXCO Theater on March 15.
Previously, on March 6, the male singer posted a photo on social media with the message: "See you on the 15th after finishing the diet".
Wheesung, born in 1982, debuted in 2002 with her first album "Like a Movie" and made a splash with the song "Can't I? ".
He has released many songs such as "With Me," "The Day We Meet again," "Incurable Disease," and "In a Year."
