Source Music recently filed a lawsuit against CEO Min Hee Jib at the Seoul Western District Court, requesting compensation of 500 million won (about 9.2 billion VND) for damages due to defamation, business interruption and insults.
Source Music pointed out 3 main issues in Min Hee Jin's recent statement:
1. Min Hee Jin claims to be the person who directly selects NewJeans members.
2. HYBE statement unilaterally broke the promise for NewJeans to debut as the group's first female group.
3. Min Hee Jin accused Source Music of neglecting NewJeans members.
Source Music believes that Min Hee Jin's statements at the press conference on April 25 caused rumors about LE SSERAFIM being a "specially favored girl group at the expense of other groups", leading to the group having to endure serious malicious comments.
Sources said that Source Music has collected evidence against Min Hee Jin's claims and submitted it with the lawsuit.

Not only Source Music, but also ILLIT's management company - Belif Lab, also denied the accusation that ILLIT plagiarized NewJeans made by CEO Min Hee Jin last month, suing Min Hee Jin for obstructing business activities and libel.
On July 9, the investigation of CEO Min Hee Jin's first accuser was conducted. On April 26, HYBE filed a complaint with the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, requesting an investigation of CEO Min for alleged breach of trust.
HYBE said: "We have confirmed the specific fact that the plan to take over the management of ADOR was established under the direction of CEO Min Hee Jin." Min Hee Jin went to Yongsan police station on July 9 for questioning for more than 8 hours.
