On the evening of February 9, online platform Netflix released a new mystery, horror film "A Killer Paradox", starring Choi Woo Sik and Son Suk Koo.
The famous webtoon adaptation of the same name by author Kkomabi, tells the story of a man who accidentally becomes a serial killer and the detective chasing him.
Choi Woo Sik plays Lee Tang - an ordinary college student with a rather boring life. When he accidentally kills a serial killer, he realized that he had a special ability to punish bad guys who deserved to die.
Son Suk Koo plays police officer Jang Nan Gam, who has a strong professional instinct, making him suspect that student Lee Tang could be the one behind this "forward change".
While the thrilling story and the role-playing of the main cast were enough to create a significant buzz for the film, a young actor's face received attention for appearance, because it was too similar to actor Son Suk Koo. On the Korean online community, the audience expressed their amazement. Many people even believe that the producer used AI to get an actor similar to Son Suk Koo.
The audience commented: "Isn't that his son? , " do they use AI? , "Where did they find these actors", "I would believe if they said it was his younger brother", "It really looks like AI", "It's really strange"...
Not stopping there, another child actor was chosen to play a younger version of the character Jang Nan Gam, who also looks identical to Son Suk Koo in the actor's childhood photos.
After releasing all 8 episodes, Murder Paradox is receiving quite positive feedback.
Kyunghyang newspaper rated this as a work worth watching in 2024, helping the Netflix platform attract audiences back after the unsuccessful films as expected.
