BELIFT LAB management company has just issued a strong statement about strengthening legal measures to deal with malicious, slanderous and defamatory comments targeting the group ILLIT. The announcement was made in the context that the members have continuously become targets of attacks on social networks in recent times.
On November 14, BELIFT LAB said it had seen a significant increase in posts containing ILLIT attacks in many anonymous online communities. The company emphasized the seriousness of the problem, especially when some ILLIT members are still minors but often face insulting comments, insult and spreading false information.
believeIFT LAB affirmed that it will expand supervision activities and take uncompromising measures to handle all violations of the law, including insult, defamation, slander and spreading false information. We will handle all illegal acts without any accommodation or leniency. According to the law, individuals who violate will face criminal sanctions, the agency stated.
For the past year, ILLIT has had to endure a long wave of attacking comments. The situation has become more tense since former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin mentioned ILLIT in the ADOR - HYBE conflict. A part of NewJeans fans then continued to leave many negative comments under the content related to ILLIT.
Min Hee Jin once accused ILLIT of "imitating" NewJeans' style and operation process, from debut ideas, images, album designs to performance styles. She also said that member Hanni was once asked to ignore by an ILLIT manager in a specific situation and made this complaint in a Congressional audit.
However, on October 30, the court rejected all related allegations. In the verdict on the validity of the exclusive contract between ADOR and HYBE, the court did not recognize the accusation that ILLIT plagiarized or the comments were attributed to the group manager.
Despite the controversy, ILLIT continues to operate as planned. The group is scheduled to release their debut album NOT CUTE ANYMORE on November 24, marking a new milestone in their career.
