AI impersonating artists is an too inappropriate and scary problem
Sharing about the situation of AI being used to fake the image and voice of artists in advertising, actress Thanh Huong said that this is a new problem but has caused panic in the entertainment industry. Although she has not been the victim of being taken photos to integrate into advertising, she said that many of her colleagues are becoming victims.
This is clearly an extremely inadequate problem. They took artist images, paired voices, and created promotional clips that the artist did not know or agree with. That directly affects our reputation, image and work, Thanh Huong said.
The actress affirmed that the scariest thing is that viewers cannot distinguish between what is real and what is a product created by AI: What AI says, viewers think the artist is telling the truth, while we ourselves cannot distinguish. This is terrible.
She cited many more cases on social networks, where the image of ordinary people was edited and distorted, even being turned into disabled people to serve online sales. "I was shocked to see it. They are still ordinary people but their limbs were cut by AI to cause sympathy. So there must be strong measures to protect them" - Thanh Huong said.
Miss Ngoc Han said that she was a victim of being taken advantage of for her image on social networks. They used photos of me wearing Ao Dai, even took my designs to put in fake sales advertising clips without permission. I have sent complaints to Facebook many times to handle these violating accounts, Ngoc Han shared.
Need for a legal corridor and AI detection technology
Faced with the increasingly sophisticated situation of forgery, Thanh Huong believes that it is necessary to soon have clear legal regulations as well as comparison technology to protect both artists and people.
I think there must be a clear sanctions. And there needs to be some software or tool to help identify who is real and who is an AI product. This must be transparent to protect personal image".
She emphasized: " Any person who is illegally photographed, whether an artist or an ordinary person, is wrong and needs to be protected."
With the rapid development of AI technology, Thanh Huong believes that audiences need to become more alert to avoid being taken advantage.
"Now AI is too professional, it is difficult to distinguish between artists like me. The audience is more likely to be deceived. So check the information through many sources, go to the artist's official website or contact to authenticate if needed."
The actress recommends that consumers should not immediately believe in artist voice promotion videos, but need to observe and check carefully before deciding. Be very careful. Don't believe in one source. With this problem, we really need a specialized and competent unit to intervene to find a long-term solution, Thanh Huong said.
Miss Ngoc Han expressed a clear point of view: The artist community needs to speak out strongly together against the situation of images being abused and used for the wrong purpose. Only when artists are in agreement, our voice will have enough influence to spread, impact society and protect consumers".
She also hopes that the authorities will soon complete the legal corridor to strictly handle organizations and individuals who use artificial intelligence (AI) images in business activities without permission: "Tough sanctions are needed to prevent and punish units that illegally use AI images, in order to protect the legitimate rights of artists and transparency in the market."

Many artists urgently call on authorities and social media platforms to take action to handle this situation of forgery and protect the image rights, honor of celebrities as well as consumer rights. This is not only a personal matter for artists but also a matter of protecting a safe digital environment for everyone.
