Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest - said: "The contest not only honors physical beauty, affirms the role and value of Vietnamese women, but also acts as a cultural bridge, arouses national pride, and connects traditional values with modernity. Entering a new era, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest is not out of the general flow of the country.
The 2024 Miss Vietnam contest with the theme "Radiant Vietnam" is directed by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Training, and organized by Tien Phong newspaper in coordination with Hoang Thanh Media Joint Stock Company.
Designed with a series of practical and humane activities, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest contributes to multiplying national pride, spreading compassion and the desire to conquer new heights in every Vietnamese person, thereby "bringing Vietnam to light".
Journalist Phung Cong Suong said that this year, the contest will be held from the end of 2024 to 2025, lasting for 2 years instead of 1 year like previous seasons. The organizing committee is determined to elevate the Miss Vietnam contest to a new level, entering a new phase.
The Miss Vietnam 2024 contest will start from universities in the three regions of the North - Central - South from January 2025. Contestants of the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest will continue to participate in many creative, cultural and volunteer activities in the capital Hanoi, Thua Thien - Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.
Finally, the contestants will return to the heroic land of Quang Tri to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony at the 17th parallel on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
The final stop in the 6-month journey of the Miss Vietnam contest is the ancient capital of Hue, which preserves the beauty of Vietnamese culture, history and soul, and is also the place that will mark the first steps of the new Miss Vietnam 2024.
Every Miss Vietnam pageant attracts the attention of a large public at home and abroad, not only because of the physical and inner beauty of the contestants but also because of the community activities and meaningful projects they carry out.
The Miss Vietnam contest also contributes to finding and discovering new talented faces who can become typical representatives of Vietnamese beauty to participate in prestigious international beauty contests.
With the message “Vietnamese Women - A Thousand Years of Fragrance”, besides the mission of preserving and promoting traditional national values, Miss Vietnam participates more and leaves strong impressions at prestigious international beauty contests.
Among them, we can mention Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, crowned Miss International 2024 - one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world.
Previously, Miss Do Thi Ha entered the top 13 of the Miss World 2021 contest. This is the highest achievement a Miss Vietnam has achieved in the Miss World arena.
In 2018, Miss Tran Tieu Vy entered the top 30 of the Miss World 2018 pageant and was in the top 3 of the Humanitarian Project. Miss Do My Linh represented Vietnam and entered the top 40 of Miss World 2017, winning the Miss Humanitarian World 2017 sub-award.
