According to Yonhap News, ADOR - NewJeans' management company - held a board meeting on September 25 to review the requests that NewJeans proposed in the livestream on September 11.
The 5 NewJeans members (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) requested HYBE to bring Min Hee Jin back as CEO of ADOR and return ADOR company to its original state before September 25.
It is known that Min Hee Jin also attended this meeting as Internal Director.
However, in the meeting, ADOR did not accept Min Hee Jin's reinstatement.
HYBE proposed former CEO Min Hee Jin as internal director and continue to be in charge of production for NewJeans for the next 5 years - corresponding to the entire remaining time in the contract with NewJeans.
Previously, when Min Hee Jin was dismissed at the end of August, the new CEO of ADOR Kim Joo Young gave Min Hee Jin a production contract for the NewJeans group, but the period only lasted about 2 months, from August 27 to November 1, 2024.
Min Hee Jin thought this was a contract filled with unfair and harmful terms so she did not accept it.
Regarding the refusal to accept Min Hee Jin's return as CEO of ADOR, HYBE said, "Since basic guarantees have been made regarding the status, tenure, and authority of the PD in charge of producing NewJeans, we hope that discussions will be held to discuss specific conditions in the future.
NewJeans members received detailed feedback via email on the content discussed at today's board meeting and various questions.”
Of course, since NewJeans' top request to bring back former CEO Min Hee Jin was not accepted, the Kpop industry is paying close attention to NewJeans' next response in the future. Will the group file a request to terminate their contract?
