On the evening of October 6, the Korean drama "Love Next Door" aired its final episode and recorded its highest average nationwide rating since its broadcast, reaching 8.5%.
Episode 16 opens with the scene of the two families of Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In) and Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min) happily eating together after resolving the conflict about their children's love affairs.
With their parents' support, Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu did not hesitate to show their intimate feelings. Before that, Seok Ryu agreed to Seung Hyo's proposal. The two went to try on wedding dresses together.
But at the wedding fitting, Seok Ryu suddenly asked Seung Hyo to postpone the wedding for 1 year. The reason is because Seok Ryu is focusing on developing his restaurant, and his best friend Mo Eum is working abroad. Seok Ryu also wants to have more dating time to make up for the "30 years of romance" he missed with Seung Hyo.
Seung Hyo accepted his girlfriend's proposal. Instead, the two prepared a small wedding for Seung Hyo's parents and let the mothers wear wedding dresses to take souvenir photos, as well as help Seung Hyo and his parents have a proper family photo.

At the end of the film, fast forward 10 months later, Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu both have successful careers, they are busy with their own work but still happy together.
The film ended without the main couple's wedding, leaving many viewers feeling regretful. Viewers had been looking forward to a romantic wedding scene when the trailer for episode 16 was released.
Many people were even upset because the screenwriter and director let the audience miss Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu's wedding twice.
The first time was because Seok Ryu suggested postponing the wedding for 1 year, the second time was because the movie only fast-forwarded to 10 months later without skipping to the couple's perfect wedding.
Some people suggested that tvN make a separate wedding video of the couple Jung Hae In and Jung So Min like the previous viral behind-the-scenes videos.
