On April 17, legal representative of Kim Soo Hyun, law firm LKB & Partners, denied the information that he had not paid 38 million won in lawsuit fees in the 12 billion won compensation lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron's family and YouTube channel Garosero representative - Kim Se Ui.
Kim Soo Hyun's lawyer stated, "We have paid all court fees and documents submission fees. The request for an extension of the additional deadline is only for the purpose of adjusting the address of the defendant".
Previously, News1 reported that actor Kim Soo Hyun's side had not completed the payment of necessary costs on time to conduct the trial of the lawsuit to claim compensation for 12 billion won (about 218 billion VND) against the family of the late artist Kim Sae Ron and Kim Se Ui.
The Seoul Central District Court's Civil Court No. 14 issued an additional court fee order on April 2, requiring Kim Soo Hyun to pay the full court fee and notice fee for the lawsuit to continue. The amount Kim Soo Hyun has to pay is estimated at 38 million won (about 693 million VND).

Initially, Kim Soo Hyun's side announced that it would sue for 12 billion won in compensation, but in the file submitted to the court, the value of the lawsuit was stated to be 11 billion won. Therefore, the court ordered a correction of the figure and a recalculation of court fees based on the 12 billion won.
April 16 is considered the last day of the deadline for paying additional court fees. If the lawsuit is not paid on time, the lawsuit may be canceled. It is reported that Kim Soo Hyun's side has asked for an extension of the fee payment time, showing that he is still trying to maintain the lawsuit.
Previously, Kim Soo Hyun's lawyer stated at a press conference on March 31: "Kim Soo Hyun and the management company Gold Medalist have decided to file a criminal and civil lawsuit against related people to clarify the truth.
Today, we filed a lawsuit against the family of Kim Sae Ron, who is known as her aunt, and the operator of the YouTube channel Garosero, for violating the Law on Promoting the Use of Information and Communications networks and defamation.
The lawsuit demanding 12 billion won in damages has been filed in the Seoul Central District Court.
Also at the press conference, Kim Soo Hyun affirmed that the evidence published by Kim Sae Ron's family and YouTube channel Garosero to accuse him of dating the late actor from 2015-2016, when Kim Sae Ron was a minor (including messages, photos, videos) was all fabricated.
"If the evidence that the deceased's family's family announced is true, I request them to submit all the documents to the investigation agency and request them to verify through legal procedures," the actor said.
Kim Soo Hyun once again emphasized that he only dated Kim Sae Ron for about a year, coinciding with the previous statement made by the management company, that the two dated from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020.
