Netflix recently released the first look at the upcoming fantasy romantic comedy “Genie, Make a Wish,” starring Kim Woo Bin and Bae Suzy.
“Genie, Make a Wish” tells the story of Jinn (Kim Woo Bin), a genie who awakens after a thousand years. Upon returning to the human world, he meets Ga Young (Suzy), a woman struggling with emotional isolation and trapped in a life controlled by her grandmother’s rules and her own habits.
The film intertwines romantic comedy elements with the main couple's conflict surrounding 3 wishes.
The first images of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy in “Genie, make a wish” immediately attracted attention. The two actors were praised for their beauty, appearance and how well they looked together.
In the single photo, “genie” Kim Woo Bin impresses with his wild, dusty look with long hair. Meanwhile, Suzy appears in the middle of the desert with a luxurious, attractive image.
“Genie, make a wish” was written by Kim Eun Sook, a famous screenwriter who has been in charge of a series of hit Korean dramas such as “The Glory”, “The Heirs”, “Goblin”, “Descendants of the Sun”, “A Gentleman’s Dignity”, “Secret Garden”, “Mr. Sunshine”...
The film also marks the highly anticipated reunion of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy after 9 years, since the film "Uncontrollably Fond" aired in 2016.
“Genie, make a wish” also stars Ahn Eun Jin as Mi Joo, a mysterious woman, Noh Sang Hyun as Soo Hyun, a wealthy building owner with a suspicious purpose, Go Kyu Pil as Sayyid, Jinn’s loyal companion in the form of a black panther, and Lee Joo Young as Min Ji, Ga Young’s only friend.
Early last year, it was reported that Song Hye Kyo would make a cameo appearance in the drama, due to her close relationship with screenwriter Kim Eun Sook. In addition, Song Hye Kyo also has a beautiful friendship with Suzy, the two actors often share happy moments on social media.
“Genie, make a wish” is scheduled to air in the fourth quarter of 2025.
