According to Allkpop, on the Korean online community theqoo, there was recently a post related to the album of Kpop girl group NewJeans, attracting attention.
According to the post, Kpop fans are quietly buying NewJeans albums out of concern that they won't be reprinted anymore.
“If NewJeans leaves HYBE, there’s a 500% chance they won’t be making any more albums and they’ll be sold out. People are starting to say, ‘You really need to buy this this year,’” the person posted.
The post also compiles samples of NewJeans' released albums, including the first EP "New Jeans", the second EP "Get Up", the double single "How Sweet" and the double single "Supernatural"...
These albums could become rare collectibles if NewJeans terminates its contract with HYBE.
In the comments section, many netizens agreed and shared their plans to buy their own albums. Some people said they were not NewJeans fans but still bought the group’s albums to decorate their spaces and interiors.
Typically, the album "How Sweet" has a large square design, similar to the design of a vinyl record, which is considered very suitable for home decoration.
NewJeans' other albums have also been praised for their beautiful design and creativity.
Currently, the contract issue between NewJeans and management company ADOR (under HYBE Group) is a hot topic in the Korean music industry.
On November 13, NewJeans sent a letter to ADOR stating that all five members would terminate their exclusive contracts if major violations were not resolved within 14 days.
NewJeans referred to HYBE's internal report stating that NewJeans needs to be "eliminated" and a new one created. NewJeans requested ADOR to take appropriate action against HYBE's decision.
Recently, when receiving the Daesang trophy (grand prize) at the Korea Grand Music Awards 2024, NewJeans attracted attention when they shared comments hinting at the group's future.
“We don’t know how long we’ll be NewJeans, but I think the bond between the five of us and Bunnies is indestructible, so let’s stick together until the end,” Hanni said.
“Even though we are no longer NewJeans, NewJeans will never die,” Danielle declared.
