According to Edaily, on the evening of September 2, Shin Woo Seok, CEO of Dolphiners Films, who directed and produced music videos for popular songs by girl group NewJeans (such as Ditto, OMG, ETA, Cool With You), announced that he was asked by ADOR company to delete videos related to NewJeans and several other projects.
Director Shin Woo Seok shared, “It seems that there have been some changes in ADOR’s policies after the change in leadership. Due to ADOR’s request, all NewJeans-related videos that Dolphiners Films has produced and uploaded in the past, as well as videos scheduled to be released in the future, are no longer public.
Dolphiners' Ban Hee Soo YouTube channel is mainly used to archive and share projects we have done, with absolutely no profit-making purposes.
These videos and channels were all created voluntarily, with the aim of bringing good content to fans. However, due to ADOR's change of stance, all of these videos have been removed and cannot be made public anymore."
Director Shin Woo Seok also said that the cooperation between Dolphiners and ADOR may have to end from here. He expressed regret: “We promised to work on projects with NewJeans members in the future. But unfortunately, we can no longer fulfill those promises.
We apologize to the staff who have devoted themselves to their work, staying up all night working for months, and especially to the fans who have been eagerly waiting.”
Previously, ADOR - the management company of the group NewJeans - announced on August 27 that it removed CEO Min Hee Jin from her position and selected internal director Kim Joo Young to replace her position.
ADOR added that Min Hee Jin is no longer CEO, but will remain the internal director, in charge of production for the NewJeans group.
However, Min Hee Jin argued that ADOR (backed by HYBE Group ) unilaterally fired her without prior discussion. Min Hee Jin's side asserted that this was a violation of the shareholder contract.
Through Sejong Law Firm, Min Hee Jin revealed the contents of the production contract drafted by ADOR. Min Hee Jin said that this contract is full of unreasonable and unfair terms, such as the contract period only lasting about 2 months (from August 27 to November 1, 2024).
In addition, this contract is said to be full of harmful terms, allowing ADOR to unilaterally terminate the contract at any time, for any reason. Even a 2-month contract can be shortened at ADOR's discretion.
Meanwhile, according to the music industry, new ADOR CEO Kim Joo Young announced that she will reinvestigate all sexual harassment allegations made by female employee A - who has left ADOR, involving an internal ADOR Director B and Min Hee Jin.
In this case, Min Hee Jin was accused of covering up and favoring Director B's actions.
