NewJeans hires lawyer, accuses HYBE, ADOR of dividing members

DI PY |

NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein share updates on their legal battle with ADOR.

The group revealed that ADOR has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of their exclusive contracts and has also filed for an injunction to prevent NewJeans members from signing new endorsement deals.

NewJeans stressed that HYBE and ADOR used “dishonest tactics” to divide the group’s members.

The group revealed that they had received the relevant legal documents and appointed the law firm Shin & Kim to represent them, citing the need for a competent legal team to counter HYBE and ADOR’s legal team.

NewJeans members further expressed their disappointment at how ADOR and HYBE failed to protect and support them throughout their activities and detailed the difficulties they encountered.

The group shared: “We felt the need to choose a law firm that could counter their legal expertise.

HYBE and ADOR have failed in their duties as agencies to protect and nurture their artists. Throughout our activities, we have faced countless obstacles, both big and small. They have essentially abandoned us, hiding their intention to halt our careers under the guise of a long-term break.

Even after our exclusive contract was legally terminated, groundless criticism of us continues to spread through the media and “reckless” YouTube channels, sharing insider information that could only come from ADOR or HYBE…”.

The group added, “While publicly claiming they want us to return, ADOR and HYBE continue to harass and attack us behind the scenes.Recently, they even tried to secretly meet with some of our parents to manipulate or divide us.

Instead of resorting to dubious tactics, spreading misinformation or using the media to their disadvantage, we hope they will address these issues in a transparent, fair and non-deceptive manner.”
