AllKpop listed the scandals that shook the Korean entertainment industry in 2024, including the noise related to the group NewJeans.

1. The noise between Min Hee Jin, NewJeans and HYBE

In April 2024, the conflict between HYBE and former CEO Min Hee Jin broke out, attracting great attention from the audience.

Korean media reported that HYBE conducted an audit with ADOR's board of directors because it suspected that Min Hee Jin - who was then the CEO and manager - was intending to usurp management rights of the company.

Immediately after that, Min Hee Jin counter-accused HYBE President Bang Si Hyuk of plagiarizing NewJeans' concept to form a new group ILLIT. Since then, new details have been continuously released by both sides, making public opinion "restless" such as NewJeans members who were oppressed when they were trainees at Source Music, Hanni NewJeans said she was ignored at the group... NewJeans members have repeatedly voiced their support for Min Hee Jin and unilaterally wanted to terminate their contract with ADOR after the former CEO was fired.

As of now, the battle is still ongoing and the future of the band NewJeans remains a question mark.

2. The love triangle between Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee

On March 15, Korean media reported that "Reply 1988" actor Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee are dating in Hawaii.

Shortly after, Hyeri posted a suggestive photo on social media with the caption: "Interesting." She also immediately unfollowed her ex-boyfriend Ryu Jun Yeol on social media.

This move by Hyeri sparked rumors that Han So Hee was the "third party" who interfered in the 7-year love affair between Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol.

Although the company denied it, the very next day, Han So Hee herself admitted to dating the "Reply 1988" actor. The audience also exposed the actress for "lying" about the time of their date, which greatly affected her reputation.

Not only Han So Hee, Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri were also criticized for this noisy story.
