According to Korea Joongang Daily, actor Park Bo Gum will promote the beauty of Hanbok as the Ambassador of the Hanbok Wave 2025 program, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in conjunction with the Korean handicraft fund.
Hanbok costumes in this program are undertaken by 4 local designers.
Hanbok Wave is an annual project, currently entering the 6th year. This program will choose a prominent character of Hallyu (Korean wave), to spread Hanbok's charming value worldwide.
Park Bo Gum was the first actor to be chosen. Earlier, the legendary skating of Yuna Kim was chosen by 2022, followed by actress Suzy in 2023, and Kim Tae Ri last year.
In 2016, when starring in the historical drama "Love in the Moonlight" (Moonlight Clouds), Park Bo Gum showed the perfect image when wearing Hanbok costumes.


According to the Ministry of Culture, the appointment of Park Bo Gum aims to expand the Hanbok wave with designs for men, instead of mainly for women.
Application for design will last until 9.5. The designs are evaluated for creativity, professionalism, feasibility ... The selected design will be promoted at major tourist destinations around the world including Seoul, New York, Paris and Milan.
"We hope to spread the traditional beauty and modern feeling of Hanbok to Hallyu artists. We hope that it will become a charming content for everyone around the world," an official of the Ministry of Culture said.
Recently, Park Bo Gum became one of the most mentioned names on the Korean screen, when playing the young Gwan Sik in the original drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines" (when life for you tangerine) of Netflix.
The film has had 2 weeks in the top of the top 1 TV rating without speaking the most global Netflix.
