Phao is a young rapper born in 2003, who began to become known to the public after his "fever-causing" performance at the King of Rap competition.
In January, the online community was stirred up when Phao shared a message image of Vietnamese-American rapper Tyga who proactively texted her via Instagram, asking the female rapper to collaborate on a song.
The origin of this invitation is after the success of the song "2 minutes more" performed by Phao remixed by Kaiz. The remix version of "2 minutes more" created a "fever" on the Tiktok platform in many countries and excellently reached the Top 1 of the global Shazam chart - a large and prestigious chart in the world, making Phao the first Vietnamese artist to achieve this achievement.
The remix version also reached 20 million streams on Spotify after 5 months of release. Phao is also the Vietnamese artist with the song with the highest number of streams ever on Spotify, surpassing Son Tung M-TP.
The original MV 2 Minute More was released by Phao and Masew in February 2020. The song is haunted by Phao's mysterious rap voice and modern beat of future bass performed by Masew. Currently, the MV has earned more than 31 million views on YouTube.
The rapper collaborating with Phao this time is Tyga, a famous American rapper with a Vietnamese mother and impressed with a large "Vietnam" tattoo on his right arm. Tyga owns many popular hits such as Taste, Ayo, Still Got It, The Motto... In 2011, he was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Rap Composition for the song Deuces with Chris Brown and Kevin McCall.
According to Phao, the remake of "2 minutes more" called "2 Minute More (Make It Hot) [Kaiz Remix]" will be released on June 25, marking Phao's first collaboration with Tyga.
After Son Tung M-TP with a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, the collaboration between Phao and Tyga in June will certainly be a big explosion that many audiences are looking forward to, contributing to giving Vietnamese rap more opportunities to step out into the world.
