Sina reported that the movie "Mac Ly" will officially air on Tencent Video at 6 pm on June 9. On the first broadcast day, the movie will air 5 consecutive episodes, then updated according to the weekly schedule.
Before its release, the film created a fever when it recorded more than 3.95 million previews on Tencent Video (as of June 3), breaking the preview record of historical films on this platform.

Not only attracting attention in China, "Mac Ly" is also of interest to many international platforms. In Vietnam, the film is also expected to be broadcast in parallel on the WeTV platform.
The movie "Mạc ly" is adapted from the famous novel "Thịnh thế đích phi" by writer Phượng Khinh. The work is directed by Lâm Ngọc Phân, who was behind the success of many blockbuster movies such as "Hoa thiên cốt" or "Tam sinh tam thế thập lý đào hoa". The script is re-edited in the direction of omitting the xuyên không element, focusing on exploiting the intellectual battles, power and strategy, and the character's journey of maturity.
In the movie, Bach Loc plays Diep Ly, a girl with a gentle appearance but in fact a person who carries the enemy of domination. Accompanying her is Mac Tu Nghieu (played by Thua Loi), the royal family in a wheelchair pretending to be sick but in fact a strategy war god, taking control of the situation behind.
The attraction of "Mac Ly" lies in the "double strength" motif, when both male and female leads possess intellect, bravery and the ability to decide their own fate. Besides the emotional line developing from agreed marriage to sincere love, the film also interweaves family struggles, power struggles in the court and battles in the battlefield.
Not only attracting attention thanks to its content, "Mac Ly" is also highly appreciated in terms of visuals. The film uses a Tang-era style of art, combining deep tones and contrasting layers of light to increase the feeling of mystery and tension for the plot story.
The trailers released earlier also quickly attracted the attention of the audience. Some scenes of Diep Ly with cold eyes, unpredictable smiles or meaningful dialogues have made many people compare this to a "disguised horror movie in ancient costumes of romance".
In addition, the methodical promotion campaign also contributed to helping the film maintain its heat before its broadcast date. Behind-the-scenes videos, character photos and Bach Loc and Thua Loi's joint appearances in entertainment programs continuously became topics of discussion on social networks.
Surpassing the 3.95 million previews mark not only shows the appeal of "Mac Ly" but also reflects the great expectations of audiences for the film. Many opinions suggest that this may be one of the most notable historical dramas of this summer.
However, the impressive achievement is just the beginning. The quality of content, acting of the cast and the ability to keep the pace of the story after airing will be decisive factors whether "Mac Ly" can continue to explode really or not. Currently, the film is considered one of the most anticipated projects on the Chinese screen in June.
