In a conversation with Lao Dong reporter, actor Thanh Son talked about how he often receives comments from the audience praising his good looks.
"The truth is that I'm always shy when complimented for being handsome. I've never built my image as an actor with good looks. I want people to look at my acting ability more because that's my passion.
Maybe I'm lucky to have a good-looking appearance, which is an advantage for me. However, I hope the audience loves me for my acting ability, not for my appearance," the actor confided.
In early 2025, Thanh Son surprised everyone when he appeared in the movie "Love by mistake", acting with Kaity Nguyen. After more than 10 years, he returned to cinema since the movie "Scent of burnt grass".
Thanh Son plays Vu, the boyfriend of Binh An (Kaity Nguyen). During a business trip, Vu had an affair and hurt his girlfriend.
The actor shared that "Love by mistake" was a memorable journey: "This role was not long but gave me the opportunity to travel to many places. There has never been a movie where I traveled so much. I went to 18 places, to 8 different cities within 14 days. During that journey, I found Vietnam so beautiful."
Previously, the actor confided that he wanted to move to the South to try more colorful roles and find new opportunities in the film genre.

Thanh Son is a famous face to Northern audiences, acting in many prime time VTV films such as "Don't make me forget", "A lifetime of resentment", "Ordered bride", "Love and ambition", "Brain battle"...
He won the Best Actor award at the 2021 Kite Awards for his role as Dang in "11 Months and 5 Days".
At the beginning of his career, he worked at the Youth Theater and was the valedictorian of the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema.
Having acted in romantic films for a while, Thanh Son was "shipped" with Kha Ngan by the audience. The pair played a couple in "11 Months and 5 Days", then played a married couple in "My Family Is Unexpectedly Happy".
When asked about the support and pairing from the audience, Thanh Son replied: "I think it's understandable that the audience "ship" a couple. I'm making a romantic film, what I convey to the audience is emotion, the emotion of being loved. Therefore, when the audience receives the emotion, they also give back the emotion of love to the character and the actors."
