According to Allkpop, as Netflix prepares for the release of “Squid Game 2” on December 26, fans have been wondering about the absence of T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) in the second main poster and official cast list, despite his participation being announced earlier.
In the official poster for “Squid Game 2,” actor Lee Jung Jae leads a group of participants running to an unknown location. Lee Jung Jae is followed by Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, and Jo Yu Ri, but T.O.P is completely absent.
In the full cast list, there is also Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Park Gyu Young, Lee Seo Hwan, Chae Gook Hee, Lee Da Wit, Noh Jae Won, Won Ji An and Gong Yoo, also not T.O.P.
Audiences speculated that T.O.P received negative reactions when appearing in the first trailer of "Squid Game", causing the producer to remove him from the movie's promotional poster.
T.O.P enlisted as a conscripted policeman in February 2017. But during his service, he was caught smoking marijuana in 2016. This resulted in a 10-month prison sentence and a 2-year suspended sentence for the singer.
In June 2022, he officially left Big Bang and has suspended his musical activities until now.
T.O.P recently hinted at a possible solo comeback. When a fan asked on social media, “When is DOOM DADA 2.0?”, he replied, “2025,” referring to the sequel to T.O.P’s 2013 solo album “DOOM DADA,” which was released on November 15 of that year.
