After his broken marriage with Tran Nghien Hy, actor Tran Hieu is attracting attention when he returns to the screen with the movie "The Big Businessman" - the work that debuted at No. 1 on the popularity ranking of LINE TV and continuously increased ratings on CCTV-8 station.
In the film, Tran Hieu plays Co Binh Nguyen, a childhood friend who was illegally sold at the end of the Man Thanh Dynasty, then rises up with intelligence and determination, enters the market, becomes a businessman.
One of the most unforgettable scenes for the actor was the scene of a rebellious army confrontation, where the common people were innocently taken advantage of as emotional leverage.
Recalling the filming process, Tran Hieu admitted that he was still overwhelmed, not only during filming but even when reviewing the filming a few days later. The actor described the experience as feeling helpless in the face of an unstoppable wave.
But not only due to psychological pressure, Tran Hieu had to film in harsh weather. The actor said that the scene required him to ride a horse across a frozen river in minus 20 degrees Celsius, both fast and constantly winding around.
This is especially haunting for Tran Hieu, because he had a horse-drawn accident in the past, making the scene a real battle with his own fear.
It felt like a horse was out of control. I thought I might not be able to overcome it, he admitted.
To transform into Co Binh Nguyen - a person exhausted in the midst of war - Tran Hieu had to maintain a thin figure for more than 150 days, despite the harsh weather from the cold of winter to the heat of 40°C in summer.
In a memorable scene, he had to roll in thick mud all afternoon. Tran Hieu even humorously recounted the scene: "Actually, my skin became smoother afterwards."

In addition to the business and commercial theme, Co Binh Nguyen also has a love affair with Thuong Ngoc Nhi (played by Ton Thien) - a girl from the salty country/horsehold, with a strong, straightforward personality and high-level martial arts skills. The combination of Ton Thien and Tran Hieu brings a modern color to the historical work.
During an interview, Ton Thien questioned the male lead's scene of covering up his character, and suggested that the scene would have more weight if Thuong Ngoc Nhi held it herself.
Tran Hieu expressed his admiration for this point of view, calling Ton Thien a "romance master" and praised the new ideas of the young actress.
The Big Businessman is not only praised for its attractive plot, but also for Tran Hieus dedicated dedication to the role.
From emotional collapse, enduring harsh weather to facing psychological injuries in the past, his performance is considered a testament to his acting ability and endurance both on and off screen.
