According to Allkpop, FLASH conducted a poll with the question: "Which Kpop girl group is the least talented". And after 500 people cast their votes, rookie girl group from YG Entertainment, Baby Monster (consisting of 7 members: Rami, Asa, Rora, Ahyeon, Ruka, Pharita, Chiquita), was voted as the least talented Kpop girl group, with 166 votes.
A part-time worker in their 50s commented: "They all look the same and have no personality. They look like people you can see anywhere". A civil servant in their 30s commented: "Their choreography is not synchronized". Another teenager remarked: "They don't have the appeal like other groups". Meanwhile, a man in his 70s declared: "Their performance doesn't move me".
In second place with 79 votes is aespa (consisting of 4 members: Karina, Winter, NingNing, Giselle), the girl group from SM Entertainment.
A company employee in their 50s commented: "Their songs all sound the same, and their live singing isn't good". A freelancer in their 30s said: "They're not very popular. Their choreography seems a bit sluggish". A professional in their 60s said: "I don't like their vocals. They don't have anything unique".
Third place belongs to LE SSERAFIM (consisting of 5 members: Sakura, Kim Chae Won, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eun Chae) from HYBE, with 60 votes.
A worker in their 40s remarked: "This can be said about all Kpop groups, but their image, music, and performance all look the same. I've seen them before. They lip-sync too much". Meanwhile, an office worker in their 20s commented: "I saw them at Coachella and they were off-key many times".
However, the results of this poll have angered Korean audiences. On the online community theqoo, a post reporting on the poll attracted over 72,000 reads and nearly 700 comments.
Korean audiences were surprised that two girl groups with talented members like Baby Monster and aespa were voted as the least talented groups.
In fact, their votes were even higher than LE SSERAFIM - the girl group recently facing public backlash for their disastrous live singing at the Coachella 2024 music festival.
