On the night of July 21, fans were "shocked" by the news spread at a stormy speed on social networks announcing that People's Artist Cong Ly had drunk alcohol, leading to a stroke and was in critical condition, with a prognosis to be difficult to overcome. Many audiences who love "The regrets" panicked and worried about the "shocking" information tonight. Others, perhaps, having experience from previous incidents, calmed down and said that things should not be rushed and wait for official confirmation from the male artist's family.
Immediately afterwards, the representative of People's Artist Cong Ly spoke up to correct that People's Artist Cong Ly unfortunately slipped and fell at his home. He was taken to the hospital by relatives for emergency treatment and the artist is currently being treated at a hospital in Hanoi. In addition to sharing about the more stable condition of People's Artist Cong Ly, his representative affirmed that the famous comedian from the North did not be hospitalized for stroke or alcohol-related as rumors are spreading on social networks. At the same time, Cong Ly's representative requested to stop posting false information that would affect the family and relatives in the process of recovering the artist's health.
In fact, People's Artist Cong Ly is not the first victim to be spread malicious rumors on social networks. Previously, many famous faces of Vietnamese showbiz also encountered similar situations or were in good health and were given a "death certificate" with "ticks" such as a serious illness, an un surefire stroke, a catastrophic accident... These especially eye-catching things caused damage to the image, psychology and time of artists when they had to speak up to correct the rumors from the "storm" on social networks.
Remember the case of musician Tran Tien in early 2021 when it was rumored that the musician had quietly passed away due to a serious illness at his home. This incident made musician Tran Tien's family angry and reacted strongly to the above rumor. The musician's wife even choked up as she said that the musician was gradually recovering from a serious illness and was caught up in rumors that he had died, which was truly... unjust. And musician Tran Tien admitted that this rumor caused his family many problems because "I haven't died yet, why let me die?".
There are many Vietnamese artists who have encountered this "half-cold, half-laughing" situation such as famous comedian Hoai Linh, Thuy Nga, MC Lai Van Sam, singer Nhat Kim Anh or Son Tung M-TP v.v... The speed of information spread on social networks makes it difficult for the "unjustly deceased" to control, People's Artist Hong Van indignantly said that she is very healthy and loves life and if anyone still does not believe it, the female artist's lawyer is willing to invite her to drink "tedge".
Recently, many unofficial websites and news sites have arbitrarily used many artist images with false content to increase interaction and profiteering. Many artists have raised the issue: Should there be a clear sanctions, thoroughly handling distorted reporting sites, distorting the truth, reducing prestige and causing frustration not only for those involved but also for the public.
