Accordingly, 8 Vietnamese students won 6 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. Notably, 5/8 students of the Vietnamese team participating in APhO 2026 are in 11th grade.
6 students won Silver medals including:
Nguyen Nhat Minh, 11th grade student, High School for Gifted Students, University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi;
Ta Ngoc Minh, 12th grade student, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province;
Vu Nguyen Nguyen, 11th grade student, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi city;
Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, 12th grade student, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ninh Binh province;
Phan Tuan Dung, 12th grade student, Hung Vuong Specialized High School, Phu Tho province and Bui Anh Tu, 11th grade student, Bien Hoa Specialized High School, Ninh Binh province.

The bronze medal belonged to Le Duy Khanh and Mai Van Khanh. Both of them are currently 11th grade students at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa province.
The 2026 Asian Physics Olympiad has the participation of 28 delegations from 27 countries and territories, with 209 contestants participating. This is one of the regional Olympic competitions with high competition, gathering many strong physics teams in the Asia-Pacific region.
APhO 2026 includes two official exam days: One theoretical exam day and one experimental exam day, the exam time of each exam day is 5 hours. This year's exam content has high differentiation, requiring candidates to master basic knowledge, have the ability to model, process mathematics and apply knowledge to practical situations.
The theoretical exam consists of three papers, addressing the mechanics of scale systems, X-ray diffraction in the study of material structures, and magnetic resonance in the outer field. The papers relate basic physics knowledge to applications in precision measurement, material science, semiconductor technology, sensors, and some modern technologies.
The practical exam consists of two exercises, focusing on designing and exploiting the measuring system. The first exercise is about "water meters", requiring candidates to apply fluid mechanics, measurement skills, data processing and error analysis. The second exercise uses a similar converter - Micro:bit ADC number to estimate unknown resistance, thereby testing experimental design capabilities, error recognition and building reliable measurement plans.

With 100% of students winning medals, including 6 silver medals and 2 bronze medals, Vietnam is in the top 8 delegations with the highest results and belongs to the group of 5 delegations with all students participating in the competition winning medals.
According to the schedule of the Organizing Committee, the APhO 2026 closing and award ceremony will take place on May 24, 2026 in Busan, Korea.
