Starting from 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) will apply a plan to organize the 2025 high school graduation exam. Accordingly, the exam will have many innovations compared to before, especially the content. The exam will closely follow the General Education Program (GDPT) with high "openness".
Below are the new points in the new draft Circular on High School Graduation Exam Regulations from 2025 just announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates and parents should note:
First : Shorten the exam holding time from the current 4 exam sessions to 3 exam sessions.
Second : Exam subjects and exam questions as announced in the High School TN Exam Plan from 2025, specifically:
Adding Informatics and Technology (Industry, Agriculture) subjects are the first subjects to be tested in the Exam.
Added a number of new exam question formats for multiple-choice exam subjects (previously there was only 1 multiple-choice exam question format).
Enhance the differentiation of exam questions in all subjects to achieve the exam's goals as announced in the exam plan.
Third: Strengthen the application of information technology and stronger digital transformation in exam organization, notably:
All candidates participating in the exam can register to take the exam online (previously, free candidates had to submit documents in person), verify personal information and other requirements. Priority is given to adding exam scores via digital database.
There is a new method of transmitting exam questions (digitized) through the system of the Government Cipher Committee, ensuring speed, security, and saving time and costs.
Fourth : Organize test points, test rooms, arrange test points and test rooms according to the principle of maximum support for candidates without having to move the test room:
Allow mixing students at educational establishments near each other to organize convenient test locations for candidates.
Candidates can only take the exam in one exam room during the exam.
Priority is given to arranging the same exam for 2 elective subjects.
Thursday: Consider recognition of high school graduation:
Increase the rate of using learning assessment results in grades 10, 11 and 12 to 50% (previously it was 30% and only used grade 12 results) for the purpose of comprehensively assessing students' abilities. Students study according to the 2018 GDT Program and increase efficiency in achieving many goals of the Exam as announced.
Candidates with a foreign language certificate that meets the regulations are exempted from taking the Foreign Language exam, but it will not be converted into 10 points in graduation recognition as currently prescribed.
Sixth: Add regulations to pilot computer-based testing when conditions are met according to the roadmap as announced in the Test Plan, gradually piloting from 2027 and when eligible for mass implementation after 2030.
From 2025, to be considered for recognition of high school graduation, each candidate must take 2 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature and 2 elective subjects from the remaining subjects learned in grade 12 (Foreign Language, History, Physics). Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics and Technology).
