Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT of the Minister of Education and Training takes effect from February 14, 2025. Since its effective date, many questions have been sent to the Ministry, including those of Mr. Gia Bao.
Mr. Gia Bao said that according to Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT, there are three cases where teachers are not allowed to teach extra classes or organize extra classes: Not teaching extra classes for primary school students; not teaching extra classes for students that teachers are assigned to teach at school; and teachers at public schools are not allowed to participate in managing and operating extra classes outside of school.
Mr. Bao asked, if a public high school teacher opens an extra class and directly teaches the main students that the teachers are teaching in the morning at school, will this behavior violate the regulations?
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training said that, in comparison with the situation he mentioned: Teachers in public high schools open extra classes and directly teach students, but in the morning teachers who are teaching the main classes at their schools are not allowed to teach extra classes, organize extra classes according to the provisions of Article 4 of Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT.
