Deputy Minister of Education and Training (MOET) Hoang Minh Son on the morning of June 6 gave the above information.
"Autonomous regulations belong to schools, the Ministry of Education and Training discusses with schools for consideration and adjustment. When schools themselves find it unreasonable, they will make adjustments so that candidates do not lose their opportunities. Students and parents do not need to worry too much" - the deputy minister affirmed.
From the beginning of 2025 to now, many schools such as the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the University of Quarantine, Hanoi Open University... have informed about the enrollment plan for this year. Accordingly, schools have abandoned the C00 admission combination, which has been used for many years and are organizing admissions using other combinations.
Most recently, two schools under Hanoi National University, the University of Law and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also announced that they will not consider admission to the C00 block but will replace it with a series of other combinations such as D14, D15, D66...
The schools said that announcing at this time is not against regulations because according to the 2025 university admission regulations, schools will announce admission information at least 30 days before opening the first round of registration. This year, candidates register their university admission wishes from July 16 to July 28.
However, in reality, announcing the exam time close to the exam takes place makes it difficult for many parents and students because many students have determined the admission block right from the beginning of grade 10.
Quoc Khanh - a student in Phu Tho - shared that he and his peers who wished to take the C00 entrance exam were both shocked and uneasy. Many students have even been affected psychologically, in crisis... after the school abandoned this block with 17 majors. Because up to now, when listening to the University of Humanities, everyone has thought of it as a traditional school considering the C00 block.
"Last March, when attending the admission consulting day at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, I visited the booth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. I directly asked the teachers and received the answer that I was still considering the C00 block for majors such as Journalism, Public Relations..." - Quoc Khanh recounted.
On the side of the governing body, the Ministry of Education and Training has also repeatedly emphasized the first basic principle in admission as "fairness to candidates". Schools are autonomous and responsible for their own admissions, but must be reasonable and ensure the best interests of candidates.
The exam took place on June 26-27, the exam score was announced on July 16. Of the nearly 615,000 university-level candidates last year, more than 52% registered to apply for admission using this exam score.
