In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will have about 116,000 junior high school graduates, of which more than 98,000 candidates registered to take the exam, and high schools will recruit more than 77,000 students.
In 2023, public high schools will also recruit about 77,000 students. That year, Ho Chi Minh City had nearly 114,000 students graduating from junior high school, of which 96,300 students registered to take the public 10th grade exam.
In 2022, Ho Chi Minh City will have more than 92,000 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam. The total target of public high schools is nearly 73,000.
In 2021, Ho Chi Minh City did not organize an entrance exam due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the city switched to admission based on the average score of the entire 9th grade year. That year, 83,300 candidates registered to enroll in public grade 10, with a total enrollment of 67,000.
This year's 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6-7. Candidates will take 3 exams: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject), Foreign Language (foreign language 1 is being studied at school, the test time is 90 minutes). Candidates who register for admission to a specialized school or an integrated class will take an additional exam in a corresponding specialized or integrated subject (150 minutes).
