The above information was shared by Mr. Tam at the 2025 Admission Wishing Festival this morning, July 19.
According to Colonel Do Thanh Tam - Secretary of the Military Admissions Committee, Ministry of National Defense - in 2025, in addition to military service admissions, 10 military academies and schools will recruit about 3,500 students for the civil service.
Both military and civil training systems conduct enrollment according to general regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the registration process and admission conditions between the two systems have clear differences.

For the military system, candidates are required to participate in the preliminary round and are only allowed to register for admission to a school that has announced their eligibility for the preliminary round, and must place the number 1 wish for that school. Meanwhile, the civil system does not require preliminary selection and candidates are allowed to register for admission according to any voluntary procedure.
"C must be very careful to avoid confusion if you wish to join the military system but register for the civil service, it is easy to fall into a failed position" - Colonel Do Thanh Tam noted.
Notably, 2025 is also the first year that military schools apply converting foreign language certificate scores and adding priority points for candidates with outstanding academic achievements. For English, the conversion level starts from IELTS 5.5 or higher. The Military Academy of Sciences also converts both Chinese and Russian language certificates for candidates who register for corresponding language majors.
It is expected that before July 23, military schools will announce the admission floor score and can be adjusted depending on the actual situation. The threshold to ensure the entrance fee is about 18 or higher, based on the results of the high school graduation exam.
