Teachers do not simply teach knowledge.
Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan Minh (born in 1995) is a teacher at Trung Vuong Secondary School (Hanoi). Recently, Mr. Minh excellently received the Hanoi Dedicated and Creative Teacher Award 2024.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, teacher Minh said that the person who gave him the greatest motivation to become a teacher was his homeroom teacher in middle school.
"She not only teaches knowledge but also cares and encourages us whenever we encounter difficulties. The way she encourages and guides students has left a very deep impression on me. I wish I could become a teacher like that, not only helping students learn but also accompanying and supporting them" - Mr. Minh shared.

In the teaching process, Mr. Minh's point of view is to always put students at the center, creating a comfortable environment for them to confidently express themselves and proactively explore knowledge.
"The teaching philosophy I always uphold is to put students at the center. I believe that a teacher not only imparts knowledge but also needs to be an inspiration, evoking in students confidence and motivation to go further in life" - Mr. Minh said.
The teacher's "huge fortune"
Despite his young age and career, Mr. Minh has achieved many achievements: Many years of winning the title of emulation fighter at the grassroots level; Second prize in the city-level excellent teacher competition; title of Outstanding Initiative of Hoan Kiem district in 2024; Second prize in IT products at the district level. He is currently the deputy head of Natural Science Group I and Secretary of the School Council.
With a major in Mathematics Pedagogy taught in English, Mr. Minh participated in developing the Mathematics content in the Cambridge Dual Diploma program, applied by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training in 7 public schools in the city. In 2024, Le Quang Vinh, a student led by him, won a Gold medal in the IMSO International Math and Science Competition.
Among the above achievements, one of the professional initiatives that Mr. Minh is most proud of is the work of developing the school program, designing a system of Math topics, and effectively applying it at Trung Vuong Secondary School.
"I have included practical topics in the program that solve real-life problems. This helps students apply knowledge directly to daily life, forming critical thinking and problem-solving skills in life.
In addition, I have added English Math topics according to the programs of other countries, advanced textbooks or types of questions in international Math competitions to create conditions for students to become familiar with human knowledge, thereby improving both Math skills and language ability of students" - Mr. Minh said.
Despite achieving many admirable achievements, few people know that Mr. Minh also experienced pressure when he first started his career.
"When I first started my career, I also faced a lot of pressure, especially in terms of teaching skills and classroom control.
To overcome, I always actively learn, not only from books but also from the experiences of my colleagues. I participate in professional activities, listen and take note of comments from colleagues. The attitude of perseverance, willingness to learn and constantly improve has helped me become more and more confident in my work" - Mr. Minh confided.
