Explaining the tightening of input quality in the semiconductor microchip industry
At the Science and Technology Admissions Festival organized by Tien Phong newspaper, many students were interested in the university and master's training programs in semiconductor microchips. According to the new regulations, candidates admitted to this major by high school graduation exam scores must have a combination of Math and at least one suitable Natural Science subject, and at the same time, the total minimum score must reach 80% of the scale (ie 24/30 points), in which Math must reach a minimum of 8/10 points.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), said that the entrance score for Math is determined based on a survey and stated that Math knowledge is an important foundation for studying semiconductor microchips and STEM. Due to the nature of using a lot of Math knowledge in studying and working, students need to achieve 8 or more points in this subject to ensure their ability to absorb the program.
However, this input standard regulation only applies to universities participating in the Government's program "Developing human resources for the semiconductor industry to 2030, with a vision to 2050". Schools that do not participate in this program can make their own admission requirements. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hai Dang emphasized that the semiconductor microchip industry requires high qualifications, so upgrading input standards is necessary. See more...
