Hanoi informs about the plan to build a school in a ward with more than 136,000 people
The Hanoi People's Committee has just responded to voters' petitions on building a public high school in Tuong Mai ward - which has more than 136,000 people but currently has only one private high school. According to the report, the whole ward has 26 schools at all levels, of which there is a complete shortage of public high schools to meet the learning needs of local students.
According to Decision 1569/QD-TTg in 2024 approving the Hanoi Capital Planning to 2050, Tuong Mai ward has been allocated a 16,300 m2 plot of land to build a new public high school. In addition, Decision 3075/QD-UBND of Hanoi City also stipulates that an area with 3-50,000 people will have 1 public high school, and the old Hoang Mai district alone will have a total of 8 high schools planned by 2050.
The Hanoi People's Committee requested Tuong Mai Ward to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to review the current status of educational institutions, traffic flow and actual needs of the people, thereby proposing a suitable public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period. Thu Dau Mot University explains the refund of tuition fees for 2 school years for students
Thu Dau Mot University said that the refund of tuition fees for students is due to the difference between Decree 81/2021/ND-CP and Decree7/2023/ND-CP.
In the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years, the school collected tuition fees according to Decree 81, in accordance with the regulations at that time. However, by the end of 2023, Decree 97 was issued, stipulating that the tuition fee for these two school years was equal to that of the 2020-2021 school year, leading to a difference that must be refunded.
According to the announcement, students who will be refunded tuition fees are those who have paid the tuition fees for the second semester of the 2021-2022 to 2022-2023 school years. Students studying will be deducted from tuition fees for 2025-2026, while students who have graduated will be transferred a refund after completing their obligations and providing full personal information. Education policy takes effect from November 2025
On September 19, 2025, the Minister of Education and Training issued Circular 20/2025/TT-BGDDT on the Program of university reserve training subjects, effective from November 4, 2025. This Circular replaces Circular 48/2012/TT-BGDDT, aiming to update the content, methods and training duration in accordance with the current General Education Program.
According to the new regulations, university admission students are trained in three cultural subjects according to the admission combination ( select from the subjects of Math, Literature, English, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology). In addition to cultural learning, students are also able to practice health and participate in educational activities selected by the principal, suitable for school conditions and student needs.
The study period lasts one year, with 28 weeks of actual study, the rest is for review, final exam and other activities. For combinations of both Math and Literature, the time is stipulated as 8 periods/week for Math and 7 periods/week for Literature.
