On the morning of November 11, Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School (Hanoi) received more than 3,800 Canh Dieu textbooks with a total value of nearly 75 million VND. This is a gift presented by Vietnam Education Equipment and Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC) to equip schools with additional documents for teaching and learning.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Principal of Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School - said that this is a meaningful gift for teachers and students of the school. Over the years, this school has used many textbooks of the Canh Dieu Book series. From the next school year, students across the country will switch to shared textbooks, but this will still be a valuable source of documents for teachers and students in the teaching and learning process.
In the current context, effectively utilizing and exploiting existing book sources is a practical way to avoid waste, because sets of books are still very valuable in terms of content and can be used as good reference documents for both teachers and students - Ms. Thuy said.

Mr. Do Quoc An - Head of Planning and Distribution Department of Vietnam Education Equipment and Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company - said that these awards shows a sense of social responsibility and accompanies the education sector in the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program.
In addition to today's book donation program, previously, activities to support disaster and flood areas in many provinces with a total value of more than 7 billion VND in books, cash and learning equipment have been carried out. In parallel, the company also implemented a Green Library program with a total value of more than 15 billion VND, equipping schools with additional documents for teaching and learning".
According to Mr. An, in addition to the 4 schools that are currently giving books in Hanoi, the company is also working with many other localities to expand the program to mountainous and Central provinces such as Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and plans to give more to 6 schools in Hung Yen and Thai Binh in the coming time.

"The total value of the equipment for the school library system is currently estimated at about 5 billion VND, combined with more than 6 billion VND to support flood-affected areas, bringing the total value of the program to more than 12 billion VND" - Mr. An said.
This activity not only contributes to supporting educational institutions to have more documents for teaching and learning under the new program, but also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity between businesses and schools in developing a reading culture, encouraging students to proactively study and explore knowledge.
