Quang Ngai - Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Principal of Ba To Town Secondary School - has reported to the Quang Ngai Department of Education and Training about the incident in which a student died while performing a performance.

According to Mr. Loc, to organize the art program, the school rented out a complete sound, lighting package, and stage of Mr. Tran Dinh Thinh in Ba Dong commune, Ba To district, Quang Ngai province. On April 24, Mr. Thinh arrived to assemble the stage in the schoolyard. On the morning of April 25, they recorded music and conducted the program for auditions.

On the afternoon of April 25, the stage was completed (lighting installation, decoration). In the afternoon of April 25, there was heavy rain from about 4pm to nearly 5pm, after which, some classes asked to return to the program but there were no problems.

The art program opened at 7:20 p.m. on April 25. At around 8pm, Mr. Ngo Huu Hoa - a teacher at the school - reported to Mr. Loc: " Hearing students talking, paralyzed at the foot, it was as if there was an electric leak".

After listening to Mr. Hoa's report, Mr. Loc asked Mr. Tran Dinh Long Vu to check and fix it immediately. A few minutes later, Mr. Loc asked Mr. Vu: "Have you checked and repaired the power system, is it safe?" Mr. Vu replied: "I have checked and fixed everything, please rest assured". At this time, the art performance was still taking place.

After Mr. Loc asked Mr. Vu to check and was informed by Mr. Vu that the problem had been resolved, Mr. Loc took out his phone to see and received a message from Ms. Le Thi Kim Thuy - the school's former teacher - with the content: "Students, electricity is running. Report to the audio department to review the event location" (Ms. Thuy texted at the same time as Mr. Hoa reported), so Mr. Loc replied: "Then come to me".

The art program continued until the 18/20th performance (about 9:30 pm), Mr. Loc received a phone call from Mr. Nguyen Van Than - Vice Principal of the school - reporting that a student was suspected of being electrocuted. Mr. Loc rushed to, and teachers nearby were also present in time and actively provided first aid to the student in distress, Truong Cong Tai - a student of class 9C.

During first aid, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan - Secretary of the Ba To Town Party Committee - directly called the Ba To District Medical Center. While waiting for the Medical Center bus to arrive, the teachers took Tai to the Ba To Town Police bus and drove Tai to the Ba To Town Center. About 30 minutes later, the doctor told Tai that he would not survive.

According to Mr. Loc, the police have worked with relevant parties to investigate the incident, initially suspecting it was electric shock.

Currently, the school has held an urgent meeting to stabilize the spirit of teachers and students, and has also called on the school's staff, teachers and students to donate to support, encourage and express condolences to Truong Cong Tai's family.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of April 25, Ba To Town Secondary School organized an art performance. At around 9:30 p.m. the same day, Tran Cong Tai and his friend were standing on stage when the accident occurred.

According to the clip recording the incident, Tai accidentally touched the iron frame and was electrocuted. Many people witnessed the incident and panicked and tried to save Tai but could not catch up. The victim died with many burns on his body.
