Hoa Binh - On October 3, the Department of Education and Training announced that it has just issued an official dispatch to strengthen food hygiene and safety (FSH) in educational institutions.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh requires units with kitchens in schools to strengthen food safety and hygiene work, as follows:

Regularly update and strictly implement regulations and instructions of management levels on food hygiene and safety. Strengthen measures to ensure food safety and student safety according to instructions of the health and education sectors.

Continue to propagate, raise awareness and responsibility of management staff (emphasizing the role and responsibility of heads of educational institutions), teachers, school staff, students and parents of students in ensuring hygiene, food safety, preventing food-borne diseases and food poisoning. Strictly control the origin of food and stages of processing, preserving and transporting food within the unit,....

It is strictly forbidden to allow food suppliers, meal providers, and food service businesses that do not ensure food safety and hygiene conditions or do not have sufficient documents in accordance with legal regulations to provide food or meals to schools.

Strengthen inspection and supervision of hygiene and food safety in schools, mobilize the participation of the Parents' Representative Committee in supervising student health care, food safety in school meals/meals, school hygiene...

Previously, on September 26, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article reflecting on the fact that An Thinh Trading and Service Company had not been granted a food safety certificate by the authorities in Hoa Binh but was still hired by Song Da Primary School to cook for students.

On October 2, Mr. Pham Anh Quy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh City - said that after receiving information from Lao Dong Newspaper, the locality has seriously investigated and handled the case. At the same time, they are reviewing and handling the responsibilities of groups, individuals, and schools when they selected contractors that did not meet the prescribed conditions.
