The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the list of national excellent student exam results for the 2025-2026 school year.
Accordingly, all 9/9 students of Newton Secondary and High School, Hanoi participating in the exam won prizes, reaching a rate of 100%, with 7 second prizes and 2 third prizes, in 5 different subjects.
Mathematics continued to be a prominent highlight when the team had 5 students winning prizes, including 4 second prizes, 1 third prize and 3 students entering the 2nd round (TST).
This is the first private school and the school that has had excellent national students in Mathematics for 2 consecutive years and entered the TST round - the round to select the national excellent student team to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions.
3 excellent students of this school, including 1 only 10th grade student in Hanoi, continue to be selected to participate in round 2 (TST) - the selection round for the international Olympic team in 2026, scheduled to be held in March 2026.
The school said that with this achievement, each student who wins the Second Prize will be awarded 300 million VND and the Third Prize is 200 million VND. This is also a prize similar to last year the school awarded to students: First Prize 500 million VND, Second Prize 300 million VND and Third Prize 200 million VND.
This is a source of encouragement and motivation for students to achieve high results in excellent student exams.
This year, Hanoi city has 247 candidates taking the exam. Among them, the number of candidates from Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted accounts for more than half (140 students). Students of this school also won many first prizes, almost the entire first prize of Hanoi with a number of 22/26 prizes.
In addition, there are 55 second prizes, 24 third prizes and 16 consolation prizes. With a total of 117 prizes/140 students participating in the competition, the rate of students winning prizes of this school reached 83.5%.
Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted also has up to 25 students who are eligible to participate in the 2026 Olympic team selection exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
In the private school block, in addition to Newton Secondary and High School, this year's national excellent students came from Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (1 student won the Third Prize); Hoang Long High School (1 student won the Second Prize).
