Vanishing is the feeling of Nguyen Bao Ngoc, a 9th grade student in Binh Tan district, because he has not yet decided which high school to enroll his first in.
Bao Ngoc said that her house is only about 2km from An Lac High School, but this is not the school she is aiming for. "I want to study at Mac Dinh Chi High School, but I'm afraid I won't go, so I'm wondering if I should set my wish to study at this school," Bao Ngoc said.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Khanh Chi, a 9th grade student in District 5, said that she will finalize the goal of placing her first wish at Trung Vuong High School. However, Khanh Chi is wondering whether to place his second wish at Ten Lo Man High School and his third wish at Hung Vuong High School.
"The benchmark for both schools last year was 18.25, so I was a bit worried and worried that I might not be admitted to any school at the same time if the exam results were not as expected. Therefore, I am thinking about whether I should put Wishing 3 in a safer school," Khanh Chi wondered.
Ms. Nguyen Ha Thu, Khanh Chi's parent, said that she had previously held a parent meeting, was consulted by her child's homeroom teacher, and registered her wish to rely on her academic ability and then the distance from home to school.
"The family plans to advise their children to place their wishes at 2 of the 2 schools chosen above, and wishes 3 will be placed at a school with a lower admission score to ensure admission, because the family's conditions are not too good. We hope that our child can be admitted and study at a public school to reduce the financial burden," said Ms. Ha Thu.

According to the plan, 9th graders will register their wishes from 2.5 to before 5pm on May 10. During this time, students and parents can access the address http://ts10.hcm.edu.vn to register their wishes.
It is expected that by May 14, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the number of students registering for 1 wish at each school, from which parents and students can know the wish rate for each school this year and adjust their wishes if needed from May 14 to 19.
Students can register a maximum of 8 wishes, including 3 regular 10th grade wishes, 2 specialized 10th grade wishes and 3 integrated 10th grade wishes.
Students registering for wishes are arranged in order of priority from top to bottom, admitted for any wish, candidates must study that wish and not change the order.
The admission score is the total score: Literature score + Foreign language score + Math score + priority and incentive score (if any).
If they do not pass all 3 wishes in the entrance exam, candidates can register for grade 10 admission at Continuing Education Centers, Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers or participate in other types of education and training.
According to the previous announcement of enrollment targets by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, in the 2025-2026 school year, public high schools will enroll more than 70,000 students, reaching an enrollment rate of about 79%, an increase of more than 14% compared to 2024, which is 65%.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7. Candidates will take 3 subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to foreign language 1 being studied at school). Candidates who register for a specialized school or integrated class will take an additional exam in a specialized subject or equivalent integrated (150 minutes).
