On the afternoon of August 6, a group of Vietnamese students attending the 2025 Asian Math Auction Competition returned to Vietnam and participated in an exchange session at Tien Phong newspaper.
At this year's Asian Mathematical Auction (AIMO) competition, the Vietnamese student delegation consisted of 22 contestants and all won medals and awards.

Accordingly, 10 students won Gold Medals, 7 students won Silver Medals and 4 students won Bronze Medals.
Notably, Phan Thanh Huy - a 12th grade student majoring in Mathematics at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted - won the championship.
Thanh Huy said that he entered the AIMO 2025 exam with a quite comfortable mindset because he had participated in many Math games before. However, the biggest difference this time is representing Vietnamese students, making Huy feel much more responsible and pressured.

"I am very proud to stand on the podium to receive the award and am even more moved when I hear the two words Vietnam ring out among international friends" - Huy said.
When asked about the secret to learning Math or playing the King Flag well, Huy emphasized the motto "never betray".
"As long as you spend enough time and effort, everyone can do well. I spend most of my time solving Math, especially difficult Math problems. When I have more free time, I play chess to relax and also to train my mind" - Huy said.
Dang Le Minh Anh - a 9th grade student at Reigate grammar School Vietnam International School (Hanoi) - shared his excitement and emotion when representing Vietnamese students to participate in the AIMO exam in 2025 and won a Silver Medal.

Minh Anh said that at first, he did not study Math very well, but increasingly he felt that this was an interesting subject, especially when he solved the Math problem, he could not feel excited.
Gradually, Minh Anh loved Math and Math problems every day. With my efforts and the companionship and support of the teachers, luck smiled on me when I won the medal. I would like to thank the teachers at Tien Phong newspaper, the Organizing Committee, and teachers for always supporting and encouraging the contestants during the competition.
Mr. Bui Van Phuong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Head of the AIMO Vietnam 2025 delegation - said that the Vietnam National Team participating in the AIMO 2025 International Final Round in Japan has 22 outstanding students who have passed domestic rounds.
"The Vietnamese team has the fewest contestants but 100% of them won. This is an unprecedented achievement for the Vietnamese team participating in the AIMO exam" - Mr. Phuong said.
According to Mr. Phuong, AIMO is not just a Math exam. This is a learning and integration journey, where students are trained in thinking, international academic languages, teamwork skills and adaptability in a multicultural environment.
Journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Fund - shared that the achievements they have achieved in Tokyo are not just titles on the achievement list. It was a long journey full of effort, sweat, effort and moments when they dared to challenge themselves to bring pride to their families, schools and the whole country.
"Their success today is not the destination, but the beginning for them to continue to strive. I believe that the experiences at AIMO will give them more confidence, motivation and solid foundation to continue to rise up, become global citizens, contributing to the country's glory" - Mr. Suong said.
The Asian Math arena is an annual competition organized since 2012 by the International AIMO Executive Committee - Asian Mathematical University, attracting thousands of participants from many different countries such as Brazil, Bulgaria, China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, etc.
Vietnam has participated in AIMO since 2019 and made its mark with more than 200 international medals. This year, the contest took place from August 3-5 in Japan, with more than 3,500 contestants from 21 countries and territories.
