On November 14, at Nguyen Truong To Secondary School (O Cho Dua Ward, Hanoi), the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with the People's Police Academy to organize a program to propagate and disseminate traffic safety laws to more than a thousand students.
This is a series of activities within Plan No. 18/KH-UBND and Plan 33/KH-BATGT of Hanoi City to enhance the assurance of traffic order and safety in the 2025-2026 school year. The program is implemented in the form of a combination of presentation, simulation, Q&A and skill practice. For the first time, students of the school have the opportunity to experience intuitively how to choose a standard helmet, how to ride a motorbike in the correct position to ensure safety, making it easy for them to remember, easy to understand and easy to apply in practice.

Dr. Major Nguyen Nhu Linh (reporter of the People's Police Academy) said that most students still do not have full access to basic knowledge related to traffic signals, road give-off rules or mandatory regulations when driving electric bicycles and electric motorbikes.
According to Major Nguyen Nhu Linh, the awareness of participating in traffic of many students today is still limited to an alarming level. Some children ride electric bicycles but do not know the meaning of the signs; some wear helmets but do not wearkm or loosekmats, posing a great danger. In reality, most students learn from the behavior of adults, especially parents. However, many parents today are not good examples when participating in traffic: knowing the law but still violating, carrying their children without a helmet or stopping and parking in violation of regulations right in front of the school gate. If adults are left alone, children will find it difficult to form the right habits, he emphasized.
Therefore, the education sector, authorities and families need to have a more comprehensive approach. "Propaganda work needs to be invested in both time and methods. One-sided teaching with dry theory will not be effective. It is necessary to integrate visual images, simulate situations, and even use technology so that students can see, listen to, and experience. They are growing up in a digital environment, with phones, tablets and social networks being the main channels for receiving information. Therefore, traffic safety propaganda must also be modern, in line with the approach of the younger generation".
Major Nguyen Nhu Linh also warned of a new problem that is strongly affecting students today: toxic content related to traffic on social networks. Many videos of racing, weaving, and swerving were shared at a dizzying speed on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc. Some groups also encouraged dangerous behavior. Students are easily stimulated by online encouragement, if they lack courage and are not guided by their family, they can get caught up in risky actions. Therefore, traffic safety education today does not stop at teaching road rules, but also has to instruct students to choose information and distinguish between right and wrong in the digital environment.

A representative of Nguyen Truong To Secondary School affirmed that the propaganda activity on November 14 was extremely meaningful and necessary in the context of students increasingly participating in traffic. Secondary school students have started going to school by themselves on electric bicycles and electric motorbikes. If they lack skills and legal knowledge, accidents can happen at any time. The propaganda session organized by the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee and the People's Police Academy brought intuitive and accurate knowledge that the school could hardly fully recreate. This is expected to be an important first step to help them form the right awareness when participating in traffic.
Traffic safety propaganda programs implemented by the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee at many schools in the capital do not only stop at disseminating knowledge, but also create a clear change in students' awareness, while enhancing the responsibility of parents and teachers in building a traffic culture for the younger generation.
Traffic safety propaganda activities contribute to forming a cultural foundation for safe and sustainable traffic in the city. When knowledge, skills and awareness are sown at the right time and in the right way, the risk of traffic accidents among young people will be gradually reduced. This is the core value that the propaganda program on November 14 brings - a small step but a big impact, spreading the spirit of the rule of law and building a civilized traffic image right from the school roof.
