On the morning of December 18, in Hanoi, the launching ceremony of the Hanoi National University Innovation and Startup Incubator took place.
Sharing at the event, Mr. Tran Phi Long - Director of the Hanoi National University Innovation and Startup Incubator (Incubator) said that the Incubator will be a bridge between knowledge, technology and business practices, helping creative ideas of scientists and students to be realized into high-value products and services.
“We are committed to providing comprehensive support, from technology incubation, business development, to connecting resources and market opportunities,” Mr. Tran Phi Long affirmed, calling for close cooperation from businesses, organizations, and investment funds to support innovative startup ideas. The incubator is committed to long-term companionship with scientists and students on their journey to conquer new successes.
Associate Professor Dr. Truong Ngoc Kiem, Director of the Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support (CSK), said that not only is CSK a place to gather knowledge, it is also a foundation for that knowledge to be transferred into practice.
This is an important bridge between scientists, students and businesses; at the same time, it constantly expands connection activities, supports and promotes creative ideas into reality; contributes to shaping a dynamic innovation ecosystem, connecting domestic and foreign resources to serve sustainable development.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Le Quan - Director of Hanoi National University acknowledged that startups can start from the smallest things, but they are cells for replication. When conditions and environments are met, they will create value and increase rapidly.
Prof. Dr. Le Quan emphasized that when talking about startups, we are talking about added value. Startups are associated with innovation, knowledge, science and technology, because only innovation and creativity can create added value.
Prof. Dr. Le Quan also suggested that the Incubator should develop the spirit of entrepreneurship and business; there should be people who dare to think, dare to do, dare to face failure, dare to innovate. In addition, the Incubator should support those who have good projects, on that basis, advise and connect with them to make the project a reality. In addition, it is necessary to screen and invest in financial projects, and provide legal support so that those projects become reality, bringing value in practice.
“We must answer the question: What is the purpose of research? Applied research must be connected, after the research is completed, who will commercialize it, and how will it be commercialized...” - Professor, Dr. Le Quan suggested.
The Hanoi National University Innovation and Startup Incubator was established as a business model under the CSK Center with the mission of supporting scientists and students inside and outside Hanoi National University to start and develop businesses.
