On January 22, the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province organized a ceremony to honor and reward students, teachers and managers who achieved achievements in the national high school excellent student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year.
Accordingly, Kien Giang province has 90 students participating in the national high school excellent student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year with 9 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography and English. The province's competition team is mainly students from Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted with 78 students, the remaining 12 students are from 8 secondary and high schools: Vinh Binh Bac; Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School, Giong Rieng High School; Long Thanh Secondary and High School, Hon Dat High School, Nguyen Hung Son High School, Nguyen Than Hien High School, Thoai Ngoc Hau High School.
As a result, Kien Giang won 47 prizes, including 6 second prizes, 14 third prizes and 27 consolation prizes; an increase of 9 prizes compared to the 2023-2024 school year, ranking first among the provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and 35th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
In terms of quality, Kien Giang ranked 2nd in the Mekong Delta, after Can Tho City, up 2 places compared to the 2023-2024 school year; up 4 places compared to the 2023-2024 school year.
In addition to the prescribed rewards, the prize-winning students will also receive an additional incentive of 20 million VND from the People's Committee of Kien Giang province, 50 million VND for third prize and 80 million VND for second prize. Teachers who participate in training excellent students who win prizes will also receive the same rewards as the students.
Mr. Tran Quang Bao - Director of Kien Giang Department of Education and Training - said that the results of national excellent students in the past 4 school years can confirm the close, direct, drastic and comprehensive direction of the Department of Education and Training. The work of nurturing national excellent students of the province has been on the right track, stable and has had solid development steps.
