The exam structure is kept stable as this year, with three parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Understanding (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). The questions focus on assessing the thinking ability of candidates, not directly testing knowledge of any subject, the total score is 100.
The multiple-choice test is on the computer, the test results will be valid for 2 years to serve the university admission work.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will also organize three exams at 30 exam locations in Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Da Nang. The exam has more than 28,000 candidates with nearly 57,000 exams.
The average score of all candidates is 55.23/100. The valedictorian is Vu Minh Duc, a 12th grade student in Math 2 at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted with 98.61/100 points. This is a record score ever.
