According to An Giang Provincial Police, since the beginning of the year, there have been 9 fights in the province that caused injuries involving 26 students. Of which, 6 cases occurred outside of school, 3 cases occurred in school. The subjects of school violence injuries are 7 cases of secondary school students, accounting for more than 77%, the rest are high school students; there are cases of health damage with a disability rate of over 31%.
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thanh Ngu - Deputy Head of the Criminal Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police - said: There are many causes of school violence, including factors from students, schools, families and society. However, from the reality, the cause determined by the students is mainly. The incident had weapons prepared by the students in advance but the consequences were unpredictable, causing injuries and damage to their health.
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thanh Ngu explained: "Students aged 12-17 are an important stage in the process of physical and mental development. During this period, personality is taking shape and is easily affected by negative factors in society. Originating from conflicts in studying, speaking ill of each other on social networks, being threatened...".
From the school's side, due to the level of handling not being deterrent, there are cases of being "asked", and there are cases of not reporting or not reporting promptly to superiors. On the family side, because there are children living in difficult family circumstances, living with their father or mother, living with their grandparents, they lack the care and concern of their relatives. From the social side, cultural factors such as movies, books, newspapers, video games, social networking sites... are violent and attract the attention of children and can greatly affect psychology and behavior.

Along with the strong development of society, the widespread impact of social networks, the digital environment and changes in age psychology, leading to conflicts in students that tend to increase in complexity. School violence does not stop at fighting but also manifests itself in many forms such as insulting honor, isolation, bullying online... causing long-term psychological damage and affecting the comprehensive development of students.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thanh Ngu, when school violence increases and tends to be more serious, there needs to be fundamental solutions, starting from the students themselves. It is necessary to form a culture of politeness, love, sharing, respect, and solemnity as an important part in preventing school violence. Stay away from negative factors in the environment; control your emotions.
For schools and educational management agencies, improving training programs is an important step. It is necessary to apply strict disciplinary measures, handling and education to deal with students who cause violence. This also needs to go hand in hand with timely support for victims, helping them recover and feel safe.
Teachers must regularly care for and monitor the situation of students in the classroom. Timely intervention for negative factors inside and outside schools. However, some recent incidents show that there are still gaps in early detection, timely intervention and coordination between schools - families - society.
The An Giang education sector requires a comprehensive review and re-evaluation of the management, prevention and handling of school violence; at the same time, strongly shifting from the mindset of " handling when it occurs" to the mindset of "preventing early, from afar", taking life skills education, emotional education and building a behavioral culture as the foundation.
