On November 12, Le Minh Xuan Secondary School (Binh Loi commune) announced that it would not organize receptions for guests, would not accept flowers or gifts to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025).
According to the school, this work is to implement the policy of practicing thrift and combating waste.
Thu Duc High School (Thu Duc Ward) also sent a letter of thanks, calling on parents and benefactors to instead of giving congratulatory flowers, they could convert them into scholarships for students in difficult circumstances or contribute to support people affected by storms and floods.
"The scholarships will be awarded by the school to students in the celebration of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day as a gift that the school's pedagogical community encourages, motivates them to overcome difficulties, nurture dreams and add motivation to study; the school also allocates a part of the money to join hands to share with people in flood-affected areas, demonstrating the educational purpose that the school wants to spread, educating humanity to students", the letter stated.
Phan Van Tri Primary School (Cau Ong Lanh Ward) sent a notice to parents and benefactors that it would not accept flowers on the occasion of November 20, but would like to replace them with books, candy or school supplies for students.
The school said that for many years, on the occasion of November 20, the school has received many fresh flowers. But the flowers will fade. Therefore, instead of receiving flowers, the school hopes to receive gifts such as books, school supplies, and candy to encourage and motivate students, also to make the joy of teacher's day more meaningful.
On the same day, November 12, the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City also announced that it will not organize receptions for guests, will not accept flowers and gifts to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025). It is known that this policy has also been implemented by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City over the years.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training also expressed its sincere thanks for the attention and good feelings of agencies and units and hoped to continue to receive support for the city's education and training cause.
