Regarding the case of a male student in An Giang being beaten by a classmate and wearing a sanitary Union in his mouth, on December 2, Mr. Huynh Van Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province said that the Department has just issued an official dispatch requesting Hon Dat High School to learn from experience in reporting and coordinating the handling of the school violence case.
Specifically, on December 2, the Department of Education and Training (DET) received Report No. 76/BC-THPT dated December 1, 2025 from Hon Dat High School about a clip of school violence being shared on social networks.
Through monitoring the initial handling, the Department of Education and Training acknowledged the school's proactiveness in accessing information, coordinating with authorities and stabilizing students' psychology.
However, reality shows that some initial handling stages and reporting processes are still slow, not ensuring timeliness according to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training on building a safe, healthy, friendly educational environment, preventing school violence in educational institutions in the 2025-2026 school year and the following years.
To enhance management responsibility and ensure timely and effective handling when similar incidents occur, the Department of Education and Training recommends that the leaders of Hon Dat High School seriously learn from experience in receiving, verifying information sources and reporting incidents, ensuring that initial information must be reported quickly by phone and in writing to the Department of Education and Training as soon as signs related to school violence are detected. Avoid prolonging, causing psychological pressure on students, creating negative public opinion about the school's teaching and learning activities.
Review the process of handling situations related to students, especially situations with elements of abuse and violence; promptly coordinate closely with local authorities, Hon Dat Commune Police and specialized agencies to ensure appropriate handling measures, in accordance with the law, and at the same time implement measures to advise and support related students psychologically.
Strictly implement regulations on the confidentiality of personal information and information about incidents related to students; ensure legitimate rights and interests and stabilize psychology and learning for students. Review and improve the process of receiving, handling, reporting and supporting intervention in school violence cases at the unit; clearly assign responsibilities to individuals in charge.
In addition, report in writing the results of handling the case, the plan to support students and the content of experience to the Department of Education and Training before December 5, 2025 for monitoring and synthesis.
As reported, the incident occurred on November 22, 2025, when D.N.Q.H, D.N.Q.D and a few other students in the group that welcomed V.X.H on National Highway 80, blocked the car and beat H.
Q.H and Q.D held a prepared knife in a pair of sleeves and forced H to drive into a deserted canal to beat him. Q.H and Q.D beat each other with helmets and hands. After that, Q.D filmed a clip and put a sanitary Union in H's mouth as in the video clip posted online.
On November 24, the Principal of Hon Dat High School invited Q.H and Q.D to write a report. Both admitted to the whole incident.
The school reported the incident and the commune leaders directed the police to intervene, the school also provided relevant information to the police.
Hon Dat Commune Police are investigating. The school coordinated with homeroom teachers and parents to visit and encourage H so that she could go to class with peace of mind. For the remaining students involved, the school still allows them to go to school normally and wait for the investigation results from the Commune Police before having further handling.
